SPFNO for Girls & Boys

The prestigious annual Susan Polgar National Open Championship for Girls and Boys (SPFNO) was created in 2006 and is sponsored by the Susan Polgar Foundation (SPF) to give more opportunities to young chess players in the United States.

Prizes include $100,000 in Scholarships to Webster UniversityThe top-scoring player in each 2-day Championship section (Girls sections only) in the SPFNO will earn qualification for the prominent Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls.

Parking:

  • 1) Street parking – arrive early to find a spot! 2-hour free parking on Saturday, but will need to move every two hours to different streets. Free all day on Sunday.
  • 2) Paid valet parking with the hotel. The hotel is valet only and pricing is as follows:
    • 0-3 hours – $12
    • 3-7 hours – $16
    • 8-12 hours – $20
    • 12+/overnight – $39, plus tax
  • 3) Atrium Garage:  There is a self-parking garage one block south of the hotel in the Atrium Building.
  • Pro tip: Check out: www.parkopedia.com. This website allows you to put in the Marriott address (200 110th Ave. NE, Bellevue, WA 98004) and the day and time you will be arriving, and it shows parking options and pricing.

The Washington Chess Federation and the Susan Polgar Foundation, in co-hosting the SPFNO, are doing everything we can to protect you, the public, as well as our players, spectators, and staff.  To this extent, we will be following the Center of Disease Control (CDC) and local health department guidelines in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  All players and guardians must agree to the terms detailed in our Health/Safety Form prior to participation in all SPFNO events.
