CHAMPIONSHIP SECTIONS:

U8, U10, U12, U14, U16/18* in separate sections for Girls and Boys

All rated sections will be 6 Rounds, G/60;d5 – All players MUST be current USCF Members


Reserve Sections: SATURDAY ONLY

K-Gr2 under500 and K-Gr6 under800 Sections 5 rounds, G/30;d5 – All players MUST be current USCF Members

K-Gr12 UNRATED 5 rounds, G/30;d5 – This section is only for players that are not members of the USCF and the results will not be submitted for ratings.


Age Cut-Offs:
 Age Cut-Offs: To qualify for an age section the player cannot have reached the age of that section before Jan 1st, 2017.

Example – to qualify for the U14 section the player cannot have reached 14 years of age before Jan 1st, 2017.


CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND TIMES: G/60;d5

5/6 * Round 1 @ 9am * Round 2 @ 11:30am * Round 3 @ 2:30pm

5/7 * Round 4 @ 9am * Round 5 @ 11:30am * Round 6 @ 2:30pm


RESERVE SECTIONS: G/30;d5 – SATURDAY ONLY

5/6 * R1 @ 9am * R2 @ 10:30am * R3 @ 12:30pm * R4 @ 2:00pm * R5 @ 3:30pm


SIDE EVENTS:

5/5 – 6:30 pm Q & A and 25 board Simul against GM Susan Polgar @ BAC Chess Center in San Jose

5/6 – 5-5:30 pm Puzzle Competition (one section). Top 5 1000+ and Top 5 u1000 players will get trophies

5/6 – 5:45pm Blitz Tournament (one section). Top 5 players will get trophies

*These times may change depending on the conclusion of the regular rounds
